Query regarding Preparation of salicylic acid solution for seedling treatment - (Nov/10/2014 )

I want to treat rice seedlings with salicylic acid solution and then use it to extract RNA from them.I dont know how to prepare stock solution of salicylic acid and then dilute it to treat rice seedlings.

I cant use methanol to make stock solutions since it is banned in our country and not available in market.

Please suggest the recipe for making stock and working solution step by step for treatment of rice seedlings.

Depending on the concentration you want to have you can use water (quite low solubility) as solvent or for higher concentrations acetone. And I'm surprised that methanol for laboratory/chemical applications is banned since you don't buy it in the supermarket or pharmacy but specialised companies.
