help for chip assay and luciferase assy - (Sep/06/2014 )

hi everbody i am new to this forum and i have one doubt i.e can we use primary cells derived from rat tissue to perform chip and luciferase assay?

Primary cells are difficult to transfect, so luciferase assay would be difficult, unless you have a reliable way to transfect them with high efficiency.

If by chip you mean ChIP, yes you can do it just as well as you can do cell lines, as long as you have decent number of cells.

If by chip you mean microarray, yes you can do it.
