2x laemmli buffer - (Aug/19/2014 )
Hi, I require some help.
I have a 6X 0.35% Bromophenol Blue, and in the 2x laemmli buffer recipe I have it says I need 0.1% Bromophenol Blue.
Can I get some help on the dilution?
C1V=C2V2, you have C1 and C2, and presumably you know the final volume you are making (V2)...

Bare with me please, the concetration is the 6x, yes? What is the 0.35%?
6x has nothing to do with it, other than if you dilute it 1 part in 6 it will give you 1x, whatever that means in this context. Usually "x" is used for a multi-component solution, like 2x Laemmli, which could equally be 10x Laemmli depending on how concentrated you want it to be. The "x" factor is usually obtained by multiplying the initial concentrations by the dilution.
The concentration is the % - you have your initial (0.35) and final (0.1)
are you sure the 6X is referring only to the bromphenol blue? it sounds more like it is a 6X loading buffer containing 0.35% bromphenol blue.
