co-transfection - (Feb/17/2014 )

Hi everyone,

I was wondering whether there are any pitfalls in the co-transfection of DNA plasmids using the same vector backbone into mammalian cells. I have a vague memory that in some circumstance that this is problematic, I may have been thinking of bacterial cells and/or co transformation......? A reminder of these details would also be great.

Thanks for your thoughts,

Laur

Please don't double post - bob.

Not that I am aware of.  For bacterial cells it is problematic if you want to add more than one plasmid with the same resistance marker (e.g. tetr) as it is difficult to tell if all plasmids are present in any one colony.

Thank you.

Sorry about the double post, I did not realise I had done that.

Cheers!
