Why cells are floating after incubation in EBSS?? - (Jan/31/2014 )

Has anyone every use EBSS to starve cell to induce autophagy? I use HEK293 cell, do transfection, and then treat with EBSS to starve cell. The cells are floating even treat with EBSS just for 1 hr.

What's the problem? Has anyone of you have any idea about this? Thanks you all so much!!!

293 are notorious for being weakly attached, the floating may be a result of the treatment. You could try coating the plates with collagin or gelatin.
