polyacrylamide gel with sybr green staining - (Dec/20/2013 )

My lab is trying to get rid of ethidium bromide. So, i try to stain polyacrylamide gel with sybr green but somehow my dna bands and marker look very blurry. :/

I made the staining solution with 100 ml TBE buffer and 10 microlitre sybr green. I soak the gel in staining solution for 40 minutes and wash it briefly with water after staining. i wonder is there anything that i did wrong?? What i can do to improve the gel picture?

I assume your gel is run in TBE as well. You want the stain solution and running buffer to be the same (except for dye).
