How many fibroblasts for 1ug DNA? - (Dec/05/2013 )

Hi,

Does anyone have an estimate, how many primary human fibroblast are needed to isolate 1ug of DNA? How many/which flasks of adherent cells do you normally harvest for 1ug of DNA?

I am normally a suspension-culture person, if anyone knew would be awesome!

Thanks a lot,

R.

According to Roche Lab FAQs, there is about 6 pg of total DNA per cell in a human cell, so I work that out to be about 166,667 cells.
