How do i know the number of copies of the specific gene in the entire genome, if its single copy of not?

i am trying to figure out the limit of detection of an assay but for calculating my genome copies i require the number of copies in the gene.

can one get the information of the NCBI database website.

If you BLAST using the sequence of your gene in the genome? I don't know if you'll get it, its just an idea, you can try
