storage for lyophilized primers - (Oct/09/2013 )

Hello all,

I usually keep my lyophilized primers sitting on the bench at room temperature. Today I accidentally put them into the -20C for about 2 hours. My question is, is it okay to freeze lyophilized primers? Or I guess in my case, "freezing" for 2 hours?

How can I test to see if it is okay? Will a simple PCR reaction using that primer work? If PCR bands show up does that mean the primer is fine? Or could it still be that the primer is not okay?

They will be fine.  It is recommended that you store lyophilized primers at fridge or freezer temperatures anyway.
