cell proliferation statistics methods - (Aug/07/2013 )

Hello all,

I have an experiment on cancer cell lines.
There are 3 cell lines. One is for control and the others are Group 1 and Group 2.
Each cell line includes untreated, mock, drug1, drug2, nc and  subgroups and is both untreated and treated with drug1 and drug2, then was measured OD values via ELISA reader for 5 days. All experiments is triplicate.

I want to compare the groups with control for their proliferation. Which statistic test do you recommend to me?

Thanks for your help.

Probably kruskal-wallis  with tukey post-hoc test would do it.

Thank you for your reply Bob.

If I use one-way ANOVA with Tukey,  does it correct?

Maybe, standard "parametric" tests like the ANOVA have to fulfill certain conditions before they can be used properly, despite the statistical tests you see used in the literature.  These conditions include being part of a large (30+) sample size (I don't think yours will meet this, unless you are doing lots of replicates) and having normally distributed data (which yours probably will be), so it is quite likely that non-parametric tests will be more appropriate.

Bob1,

Thanks for your attention
