Effects of Etiolation on Plant growth - (Apr/11/2013 )

HI I need help with 1 question please :)

Can anyone give and explanation or if possible a site which explains how an etiolated plant grows- i.e. how does the plant stem elongate without light/ little light?

My attempt :S
I know that auxins are responsible for plant cell elongation and how it works - i.e. moving away from the light source to the shaded area of the plant to elongate that section. However Im not sure if auxins in absence of light help a plant to grow/elongate? is it without light the auxins stay at the plant tip to stimulate growth elongation there or it it all something else?

I have researched and all the sites tell are why an etiolated plant grows the way it does, but not how

It would be the awesome if someone can help me with this and even better if you could provide a site with an explanation :)

Thankyou so much
