carbon dioxide retention - (Apr/07/2013 )

Does the body exhale all af the CO2 that is inhaled? If not, in what circumstances would the body retain and utilize inhaled CO2?

Moved to homework forums as it looks a lot like homework to me... Bob.

So, what do you know about gas exchange in the lung?

I know that oxygen and CO2 are exchanged in the aveoli. I am wondering if all the CO2 we inhale is exhaled. If not, what are the circumstances that some inhaled CO2 would be retained and utilized in the body?

But that is just a re-wording of your question...

Would the body take up some of the CO2 inhaled?
