Buffers RNase decontamination - (Mar/26/2013 )

Hello,

I'm trying to prepare RNAlater in the laboratory. This buffer is a solution of EDTA, sodium citrate and ammonium sulfate. Must be brought to pH 5.2. The question is: I have nuclease-free water for its preparation, but the reagents are not. What is the risk to preserve my RNA In this coditions or should I buy nulcease-free salts?

Thank you

You should buy nuclease free salts and only use them for RNA work, you should also never use a spatula to get these out of the container (just tip and tap the container to get them out) and never return to the container any excess you tip out.
