can canine COL1A1 primers be used to quantify human COL1A1 cDNA in qPCR - (Mar/25/2013 )

Hello,

We have some canine COL1A1 primers left from a previous experiment. can I use it to measure human COL1A1 cDNA in a qPCR setup?

Find the sequence of canine and human genes, align them and see the differences in the region of primer binding.
Quicker way to do it is to BLAST these primers against human reference transcripts.

Personally I think there is high chance the primers would countain mismatch and would be unusable.
