Sodium orthovanadate (Na2VO3) preparation - (Feb/15/2013 )

Anyone prepared Na3VO4 to be used as a component of the protein lysis buffer before?

It seems like the pH has to be readjusted to pH8 using a tricky protocol.

And I heard you would have to activate it prior to usage by boiling?

do you mean na3vo4?

Do you have to reactivate it after thawing out frozen aliquots?

I found that some aliquots appear liquid at -20C and dont freeze. Would you know what is it so?

check the pH, if it's low then yes, but, since the activation procedure says to store aliquots of active orthovanadate at -20C, you probably won't have to.

not a clue (maybe it's concentrated enough to suppress the freezing point to lower than -20C, maybe your freezer is off, maybe you looked during defrost cycle?)
