Acetaldehyde estimation in alcoholics - (Feb/04/2013 )

Hi all,

Can any one tell me a protocol to estimate the acetaldehyde in the blood of people consuming alcohol.

And, in normal or healthy individuals (normal values) what can be the amount and in alcoholics what can be the estimate.

Thanks in advance.

I would estimate that non-drinking people would have no detectable acetaldehyde, but how quickly it is processed and removed from the blood after a drink is taken is another matter.

The total emissions of acetaldehyde from stationary sources in California are estimated to be at least 190,000 pounds per year, based on data reported. And it goes upside down.

Link removed as it has nothing to do with the topic. Bob
