Best Way To Prepare Sodium Bicarbonate Solution - (Dec/12/2012 )

Hello,

I'm trying to prepare 20% sodium bicarbonate solution, and I'm having trouble getting it to dissolve. I placed 10g in 50 mL DI water, and the solution is just very cloudy. Since I can't heat it, is there another way to dissolve it? I plan on filter sterilzing it afterwards.

Thanks!

see the solubility chart of this compound:

Solubility in water 9 g/100 mL
69 g/L (0 °C)<2>
96 g/L (20 °C)<3>
165 g/L (60 °C)<3>
236 g/L (100 °C)<2>

So heating will help..
but since you cant do this.. no other option then diluting it.
