Competent bacterial cells - (Oct/19/2012 )

I am in need for a competent bacterial cells that are ampicillin, erythromycin, and of virginiamycin resistant....Is such reagent available anywhere? Any insights would have been greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could always transform bacteria with plasmids that have those resistances.

I dont know of competent cells that are intrinsically resistant to those drugs. You would probably have to go to a hospital lab to get MDR bacteria but they wont be competent. Look for plasmids that have those resistance genes and transform and select for them throughout the process of making competent cells.
