cDNA sequencing - (Sep/27/2012 )

Hi all,

Just wanted to know that if I plan to use cDNA sequencing to determine the sequence of a particular gene, how can we determine the sequence of the complete length of the cDNA. Doesn't common sequencing have limits of 600-800 bp? So, if my cDNA is say 1600 bp long, how can I determine the sequence of the other 800 bp? Or is it that other methods of sequencing are employed in such cases.

Thanks for your help.

The method is called "design additional sequencing primer in the middle of your sequence" ;)

You can also try 5' and 3' RACE.
