0.1 Volume - (Sep/12/2012 )

how much is 0.1 volume 10X turbo DNA?

I didn't understand what is 0.1 volume? and can you tell me how to calculate?

-Mad Researcher-

0.1 volume is 1/10th of the volume that you already have. e.g. if you are making up your ligation in 10 ul, 0.1 volumes would be 1 ul.

and what is 10X here?

-Mad Researcher-

10x means the concentration of a multi-component buffer at 10 times the working concentration. This is a convention so that you don't have to write out all the components listing the concentrations, and then having to do the same for the working concentration... basically it means you dilute 1 part in 10 to get the working concentration.
