Liver S9 Microsomes with NADPH and Glucose 6 Phosphate - (Jul/24/2012 )

Hi, so I am looking at protocol for metabolizing drugs using liver microsomes. I am just wondering what the need for NADPH and glucose 6 phosphate reagents are. I understand that NADPH is necessary for the oxidation of the the substance but what use does glucose 6 phosphate have?

Thanks.

You must be meaning NADP+ or NAD+ required for oxidation. NADPH is produced in oxidation like one in beta oxidation.
About glucose-6 phosphate it may acting be energy source. Will you describe your question more clearly?
