how do i make non-ionized resin? - (May/04/2012 )

hi guys, i am trying to follow a new protocol, which requires the mix of non-ionized resin with DE 52 resins. is there a way to simply mix equal amount of anion and cation resins to form the non-ionized resin or i'll have to purchase from bio-rad????

Thanks for the help!!!!

i'm not sure what they mean, but you can buy plain cellulose packing material.

if you mix anion and cation exchangers they don't cancel each other out. you will end up with a mixed-bed ion exchanger. anions will bind to the anion exchanger and cations will bind to the cation exchanger and both will elute with a salt and/or pH gradient.
