Freezing bacteria - (Apr/19/2012 )

Hi,

I would like to know if it´s correct to freeze bacteria at -140 degrees with 20% of glycerol.

Thanks,

vanu

yes, that is possible

Really? They won´t suffer any harm, because everywhere I´ve seen that they should be frozen at -80degrees ....

Thank you very much,

Check this: http://www.cabri.org/guidelines/micro-organisms/M300Ap501.html

A lot of labs just use -80°C because they have the equipment for it.
