Tetrapotassium vs tetrasodium salt - (Feb/28/2012 )

Hey.

I was going to buy the Ca2+ chelator BAPTA in the tetrapotassium salt form. Then I found BAPTA tetrasodium salt, which is cheaper in a different seller. Is there any difference/advantage between these reagents?

Thanks.

It depends on your application, if your medium can tolerate some extra sodium or you don't want potassium in there (e.g. cardiac or neural cells might be affected), then choose the on that suits.

Ok, thanks.
