overlapping primer - (Dec/30/2011 )

hey guys..
i'm doing a school project . I need to design my primer to amplify the intron region. (In the gene that i'm working with, there are 3 introns). can anyone explain what's the different between using primer to flank the intron region and using primer to overlap each other?
thanx..

I don't quite understand your statement "using primer to overlap each other". Is your purpose to sequence the introns? To amplify an intron, depending on the size of the intron, you can just design one pair of primers with each on the neighboring exon or at the start or end of the intron. If the intron is too big, you may want to amplify it using more than one pair of primers, neighboring amplicons can overlap each other.
