RNA extraction from paraffin embedded tissue - (Nov/30/2011 )

Hi everybody. I would like to know if it´s possible to extract RNA from tissue embedded in paraffin. Is there any protocol for this?

Thanks to all

There are several kits from ABI/Invitrogen, Roche, QIAGEN and so on.
But I was just looking at this paper yesterday, where is a protocol for RNA isolation from FFPE by classic phenol:chlorophorm extraction.

In my lab we have old material embedded in paraffin and also a lot of material en EtOH 100% at -20º that was going to be used for histology. It would be possible to extract also from material in EtOH? Do you think the RNA could be degraded? I think thath because the tissue is fixed, maybe it could be intact
