Albumin contamination - (Oct/28/2011 )

I have produced whole immunoglobilins but have albumin in my sample. What is the best way to remove the albumin from my sample. I do not have chromatography as an option.

GE Healthcare (and probably others as well) have albumin depleting kits for 2D PAGE. Maybe you could give it a try. Depends on the amount of sample and albumin you have.

This will be scaled up to a production scale project so I need to be able to scale up the albumin depletion as well. Thanks for the suggestion though. I will try to see what they use and try to come up with something similar that can be scaled up.
