methods for gene sequencing - (Oct/28/2011 )

I am interested in seeing 5 genes. But I don't have a lot of samples. How many methods can I do to sequence these genes?

Thanks a lot!

The genes themselves (genomic) or RNA/cDNA?

I want to sequence 5 genes. They are very closely located. Is there any way to just sequence these genes, without doing PCR? Thanks!

I will use DNA.

You should be able to sequence them off the DNA directly if you have primers for the genes. This might result in short read length though. If you could clone the genes, then you should be able to get more or less unlimited DNA for sequencing.

BTW, the sequencing reaction is a form of PCR!
