Looking for a GFP plasmid (non-amp) - (Oct/11/2011 )

I need a bacterial expressed GFP that is not amp resistance.
I tried to look for one, but couldn't find any.
I have pGLO and I can probably just swap out the resistance gene, but if there is something commercially available, it'd be easier and more convenient.

Thanks.

Every GFP plasmid that I know of that is commercially available uses an AmpR selection for bacterial growth. Honestly, if you want something different, then I would either swap out resistance into pGLO or clone GFP into a different vector by PCR.

Best of Luck.

The GFP vectors from Clontech usually have Kanamycin resistance.

I stand corrected! I can't believe I forgot since I've used pAcGFP-N1 from Clontech before. Just be aware that there are two types of GFP plasmids sold by Clontech, one from Aequorea coerulescens and one from Aequorea victoria, so make sure you know which one you have. Sequences are differnet and certain antibodies only work with one or the other.

Best of Luck.
