Small intestinal cell line for transport studies - (Oct/11/2011 )

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a small intestinal cell line that forms nice and tight monolayers that I can use for transport studies.

We have Caco-2 in the lab and used them a lot, but 1. they are colorectal and 2. they don't express a small intestinal receptor I'm looking for.

Anybody worked in the field and knows another cell line matching my criteria?

Thank you!

What kind of intestinal receptor are you looking at?

sweettaste receptors and the likes ;)

Do you know any intestinal cell line that would express sweet taste receptors other than Caco-2?

Nope. That's what I want to find out after I've found a duodenal or ileal cell line that makes nice barriers for transport studies ;)
