protein pass through column - (Jul/13/2011 )

Hello guys,

i just want to ask if high molecular weight protein can pass out in a gravity flow column? The pore size of the membrane in the column is 30 uM polyethylene and i wanted to wash my HIs beads coated with recombinant protein in there. I was just wondering whether some of the high molecular weight protein still remain on the column? thanks for your info.

the high molecular weight proteins should pass through the column, with sufficient washing, as long as they haven't precipitated.
