Lowest successful plating density for SH-SY5Y? - (May/17/2011 )

Hello everybody!

I'm curious at what plating densities people have been able to successfully plate SH-SY5Y cells. I'm primarily concerned with low densities, but I would also like to hear about densities that have been found to work particularly well with this cell line. I'm examining neurite length after retinoic acid induced differentiation and I assume that a lower density (if the cells survive) would better demonstrate maximal neurite length.

On a related note, does anyone know if differentiated SH-SY5Y polarize?

Best regards,

Andrew

I have done 2,500 cells / cm² (on collagen coated plates) and the induce with retinoic acid and this worked for me ...
