PCR genomic DNA using cell lysate - (Apr/27/2011 )

Hi everyone,

I wanted to save some time on my protocol, and was wondering if one is able to directly PCR genomic DNA from cell lysate without first isolating the DNA. The cell in question is bacterial (salmonella). Can anyone describe the protocol and lysis buffer they used, as well as their experiences with it? Thanks in advance!

Yup, tip touch the pure colony on agar and suspend in PCR master mix. This is the fastest way.
