Help on BmN4 cell culture - How to maintain BmN4 cells? (Apr/16/2011 )

Dear all,

I am looking to maintain a culture of Bombyx mori BmN4 cells.
Could anyone please give me some advice on passsage frequency and split ratios?
Also, would anyone be able to tell me how healthy BmN4 cells typically look like when attached to a surface (i.e. round or elongated, etc.)?

I never have worked with this line, but in general insect cells grow in monolayer and suspension the split ratio could be (as the manuals say ) 1/8 each 3-4 days from an 80-90% confluence.
