mycoplasma detection kit - (Feb/15/2011 )

Dear all,

I am looking for a sensitive mycoplasma detection kit. So far, I was using the one by Minerva Biolabs which is based on PCR amplification. However, I am sure I get false negatives (because my cells look weird but there is no positive amplification). On top of that, many times the PCR reaction is inhibited by the medium (the internal control does not amplify). According to your experience, is there any product you are happy with?
Thank you in advance.

we use plasmotest from invivogen...works with 'reportercells' no pcr! reduces the chance of falsepos or falseneg
Good luck!
