PVDF membrane in direct contact with kodak film - PVDF membrane accidentally touching kodak membrane (Jan/12/2011 )

My PVDF membrane accidentally touched kodak film directly and the membrane turned yellowish. The membrane had ECL+. I covered membranes with plastic and put new film but had no signal. Would like to know if someone has run into something similar and if there's any hope that the membrane is still good if I strip and put antibodies again?

While this has never happened to me, I know it is possible to strip and re-probe blots. However the technique isn't recommended for occasions when you need to quantify your signal, as it can strip your protein of interest out of your blot.

As long as you're just looking for the presence/absence of a signal though then stripping should be OK.
