NS-1 myeloma line - (Jan/07/2011 )

Dear all,

I have just started to work with NS-1 myeloma cells in my lab (so far, we were working with SP2O). I am culturing the cells and I found that when doing so in 48-well plates the cells adhere to the plastic and change their shape. In concrete, many of them stop being round to get a stick shape. I never saw this with the SP2O cells so I wanted to ask if anyone working with NS1 could tell me if this phenomenon is normal.

We have been working with NS-1 for a very long time and we have never seen anything like that. Are you sure you have the NS-1?

Yes, we purchased it from Sigma. I will check for mycoplasma contamination. Thx!
