Immunopricipitation for lysate only? - (Dec/18/2010 )

hi all

I have RNA and purified protein can I do immunopricipitation to detect if my protein can bind to this RNA? or IP is designed only to detect complexes from lysates? any suggestions are wellcome

Check out EMSA (electrophoretic mobility shift assay) protocols - designed for DNA, but they should be adaptable to RNA.

thanks for your reply, EMSA is very tricky, but can I do IP + RT PCR?

What about like, a Chromatin IP (ChIP)? I don't know much about the procedure, but it seems like this would be the time to do it.
