standard internal marker for quantification - (Dec/02/2010 )

hi,
ive tried actin and tubulin western blot to quantify my protein in the brain. but, i obtain saturated bands..
actually, i tried GDPH as marker, and im wondering if its suitable for my quantification!
thanks

It depends a bit - levels of protein can vary across cell type, so if you are trying to compare different cell lines with GAPDH, then it is not a good method, but if you are comparing samples from one line, then you should be fine.

thanks!
in fact, im trying in in cerebellum extract!

I want to quantify my protein of interest in brain extract of control and immunized animals (with disease), using GDPH as internal control!
im wondering if gdph levels are impaired in immunized animals, due to some mitochondiral changes!!
