Culturing XL1 blue - MRF - (Oct/21/2010 )

Hi people, I need some help!

The lab have bought E. coliXL1 Blue MRF, however I am unable to culture them. I tried incubating them overnight on both MH agar and LB broth. Any ideas what could have gone wrong and what other alternatives to culture them? Thanks very much.

Hola, This strain is thiamine - and needs Tc to mantain episome, but in LB arenīt necessary. Once grown you must add Tc. I think that you have received an slant with agar medium to seed from it or a freeze glicerolized , so ask to the supplier because your bacteria arenīt viables. Good luck
