Replacement of Zinc sulphate in Zinc staining - by using zinc chloride (Oct/19/2010 )

Hi all,
I intend to do a Zinc staining for my SDS-PAGE. Based on the protocols, I found that Zinc sulphate was used. Since I do not have zinc sulphate in hand, is it possible for me to use zinc chloride as replacement?

Thank you very much.
Adrian

this protocol uses zinc acetate

Hi mdfenko,
Thanks for the info. I shall be searching for zinc acetate now...
it seems that any zinc ions are possible, as long as to maintain the alkaline conditions...
