Help!!!! I have a persistent fungal contaminant in my incubator - fungal contamination (Sep/26/2010 )

Hi,
I have been having fungal contamination in my incubators ever since some nearby construction has been shaking our building. The problem is in the water. These incubators have a self cleaning mechanism that claims to be effective on bacteria, mould and fungal spores. However, I ran this cycle and did not open the incubator for two weeks, only to find that when I did, the fungus was there again. I autoclave everything routinely. I am hesitant to use harsh chemicals in these quite new incubators for fear of corrosion. My antique incubators are not showing this contamination (continuous flow CO2 vs CO2 injection). Any ideas?

Have the same problem.

Use Silver Ionic Sticks. They work great. We use to use Re-Juv-Nal but switched to the Silver Ionic Stick. I believe Thermo sells similar item for $80 but you can find on Amazon for under $20. Comes with sticker to place on door of incubator so you know when to replace. Good for about 6 months.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
