how to plate cells precisely - (Aug/13/2010 )

hi everyone,

are there any methods that you guys use to plate cells precisely - so that the number of cells/well are similar amongst each-other with minimal variation?

p.s. sorry for posting this in the wrong folder :(

First, your initial counts should be done at least twice following a slight vortex as cells can sometimes clump.
Secondly, as you're plating, if you're doing really high volumes, some people keep their cells on a magnetic spin plate. If you're doing some low volumes, constantly (but gently) pipet your cells up and down so that they are mixed properly.

Hope that helps!
