Recommended poly-HRP for IHC? - (Jul/20/2010 )

My lab has been using "ready-to-use" IHC kits for long time (mostly of the Zymo Histo-max variety). These kits include working concentrations of poly-hrp and aec. We are trying to start making our own solutions for IHC now. We have an AEC recipe that seems to work, but we can't find a good poly-HRP antibody that works. So far, we've tried an HRP conjugated secondary that has a single HRP on it as well as a polymer HRP antibody. We can't get any signal (sometimes after 30min incubations with AEC we get difuse background in some tissues) with either of these systems.

Can anyone here recommend a secondary HRP-conjugated antibody that works on thin section IHC of mouse tissues... that you've test and know works?

Thanks.

I tried the Vector MP-7401 immPress (anti rabbit peroxidase) with Vector AEC immpact substrate. Works nicely for me.

We'll look into it. Thanks. It looks like a pretty good deal too compared to other pre-diluted secondaries I've seen.
