Can we find out own germline DNA - (Jun/29/2010 )
Meaning, do we have access to our embryonic DNA before all of the recombination events, mutation, etc. I know you wouldn't look in your own gametes, but would our adult stem cells have these untainted DNA specimens?

Most somatic cells would have the normal copy of the individual's DNA. Aside for the rare mistake, cells do a rather good job at repairing their DNA.
Yes it is true that somatic cells do gather mutations as they individual animal ages, but the same can be said for germline cells from aged individuals.
All evolution that we see are caused by mutations in the germ cells, so even germ cells are not exceptions to mutations.
