biochemical identification - manual about this? (Jun/12/2010 )

Hallo ,

has anyone a good website or a book where I can find more information in the use of biochemical tests to identify bacteria?

I see these tables with biochemical tests very often in papers, but I do not seem to find a good website that explains all the tests.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks

You have many different ways to create this table:
1- Using automated ID systems will automatically do the ID for you. Then when you get the results you can highlight the positive reactions and go to the machine manual to identify the acronyms.
2- One by one biochemical ID, will take a bit of time. But you will be able to record the positive result of each test at the time of the experiment.
To know more about the biochemical reactions/tests I recommend "Manual of Clinical Microbiology"
