FACS - double staining - apoptosis AND proliferation markers (Jun/07/2010 )
i am currently not that familiar with FACS analysis:
is it possible to test the same sample for apoptosis AND proliferation markers?
could it be that there is a double positive population - e.g. apoptotic cells which express proliferation markers or vice versa??

thank you yobou, iŽll try!
I think you could stain cells simultaneously for apoptosis and proliferation markers as long as they are conjugated to different fluorophores. There might not be a double positive population as I think the apoptotic cells might not express proliferation markers.

1. Proliferation and apoptosis by CFSE-AnnexinV-7AAD +surface activation markers (correlates with proliferation, such asCD38, CD69, HLADR,etc)
2. Cell cycle (anyDNA dye compartible)+ proliferation (Ki67 IC) + apoptosis (by DNA contetnt- hypodiploid pike)
etc..etc..etc..
