antifungals or other in water pan? - (Jun/04/2010 )

hello all,

I have been shown in this lab to always add an antifungal solution to my water pan, are you guys doing similar things? I can smell it when i add it so i'm wondering what effects it may be having on my culture!

Usually incubator manufacturer's recommend not adding chemicals to the evaporating trays in incubators as they can affect the evaporation rate and thereby the humidity and as such the CO2 and subsequently the pH of your cultures.
