Centrifuging resins - (Jun/02/2010 )

Hello I have a question about centrifuging various types of resins. I am binding protein to an amylose resin and I quickly spin it down prior to protein incubation to wash the resin several times. Is there a limit to how long or fast the resin can be spun down without damaging it? What about when the protein is bound? Can a spin it too fast so that the protein elutes off the resin?

Thank you.

which resin. different resins have different strengths. the danger in spinning resins is that you may crush the bead.

you can spin at low speed (<3000 rpm) to pellet.
