how to prepare micromolar drug concentration - (May/18/2010 )

Can anybody tell me how to obtain micromolar concentration of any drug.
I want to test 2.5 and 5 micromoles of drug in cell culture. molecular weight of the drug is 264.32.

I would made up a millimolar stock (say 1mM) and dilute appropriately to get micromolar concentrations in your media.

e.g. for a 1uM concentration in 1mL of media add 1uL of 1mM stock.

do you want concentration (micromolar) or amount (micromoles)?

based on the formula weight, 264.32 ug=1 micromole. 660.8ug=2.5 micromoles, 1.3216mg=5 micromoles.

if you want concentration then you add those amounts to 1 liter (final volume).

thanks for reply.
I need micromolar (μM) concentration of a drug.

Thanks for help.
Can you please tell me at which step, mostly error occurs during MTT assay?
I am doing for the first time.
thanks.
